JESUS UNDER FIRE
Luke 4:1 - 13

Temptation is like bait on a hook. Satan will bait the hook with anything enticing enough to get you to bite, then he will reel you into death. Jesus was under fire from Satan in every way that we are, except He never sinned. Jesus fought the fire of hell with the fiery Sword of God's Word. The truth is: Satan can't stand the heat. Jesus is our victorious Warrior-King, who leads us to victory over the evil that assaults us.

7/24 & 25
JESUS IN THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT
Luke 4:14 - 21

Jesus shows us what it looks like to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We proclaim good news to the poor, freedom to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind and release for the oppressed. We proclaim God's favor.

7/31 & 8/1
JESUS FACES REJECTION
Luke 4:22 - 30

The people in His hometown would rather kill Jesus than kill their religion. We can just as easily reject Jesus over greed, selfishness, comfort, embarrassment or control. When we feed ourselves and our souls on anything or anyone other than Jesus, we throw away the healing Bread of Life.

8/7 & 8
JESUS DEFEATS THE DEMONIC

Jesus shows us the secret of knowing our evil enemy, so that we are not easily defeated. Our life is like a house. Jesus owns the house, but Satan will try to sneak in. Jesus shows us how to keep all doors and windows closed to evil influence. As owner, Jesus gives us His authority to deal with any dark-willed intruder.
